We’ve all been there. That moment when you decide, against your better judgement, to run the gauntlet at the drive-through. After making it slowly through the long line of cars, you inevitably get stuck behind the person that orders half the menu, and then, finally getting to the squawk box you try to decipher the crackling static voice from the half interested, poorly paid person at the other end who would rather be doing almost anything else than this. You’re pretty sure they got it right, but who knows? Then finally, at the window, you’re so hungry you can already taste it, and it happens… “we’re just cooking more now, so pull on up and park and we’ll bring it out to you.” Finally, the bags make their way into the car window, and are sent straight to the backseat. Just when you think happiness is within reach, that’s when Car Chaos ensues.
The Real Price of Fast
The cost of a QSR visit has escalated to the point that the price gap between a casual dining visit and a drive-through visit has significantly narrowed, leading many consumers to see sit-down restaurants as a better value for quality and specifically the experience. The value proposition for the customer is more nuanced. Fast is not always easy and the QSR experience has many opportunities to disappoint. These common experiences provide a wealth of tensions to focus on; Car Chaos is the first of these.
When we took over the brand in June of 2025, systemwide traffic was down year over year and we ended the year with positive system-wide traffic.
