Look, as proud Atlantans, we get it. Southern history is…messy. But when Centennial Yards came to us to design an identity system and tagline that could represent it on the world stage, we knew that understanding our history and honoring it would be critical. That history has always been foundational to the area and we had a duty to continue that in our work.

Using history to define the future.
Atlanta, originally called Terminus, was a rail hub representing the foremost technology of it’s time, the steam engine. The emerging rail system was a great leap forward in human technological advancement and this place, where Centennial Yards is now located, is the origin point of what would eventually become Atlanta. In the 1840’s a circle wye was created to help manage the ever increasing amount of rail traffic. A wye was an innovation in which two or more lines intersect to form a “Y” shape. The circle wye gave birth to Atlanta and fostered the growth of the original downtown.
We developed systems for brand growth & wayfinding.
It was an honor getting to work on such an important development for our city and we look forward to continuing to do our part in pushing Atlanta forward.
